Disney made us trust them after Force Awakens, but that trust is slipping away like a fistful of sand. Unless you are obsessed with Star Wars lore, this isn’t exciting. It can’t depend on nostalgia because we’ve gotten a rebooted Star Wars last December. Instead of building on the momentum of Episode VII, we’re going backwards with another prequel about the Death Star (how many do we need!!!). I want Episode VIII- not a Felicity Jones spin-off. This looks fine, but with all the rumors going on behind the scenes, we’re suspicious if Kathleen Kennedy can iron out the mistakes made by director Gareth Edwards. This looks like a good action movie that will make fans excited but casual moviegoers indifferent.
