ABC producers announced Shondaland is expanding. Rhimes just got her fifth series picked up by the network- this time it’s a period piece telling the story immediately after Romeo and Juliet. Still Star-Crossed is based on a book by Melinda Taub following the African-American cousin of Juliet and the politics between the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of Juliet’s suicide. It might not make us excited but we are curious if Shonda’s obsessed fans will accept or reject the new series. It won’t become a juggernaut like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, or How To Get Away With Murder but it is ABC’s best bet on a solid new drama for the network. It will last at least two seasons. We’ll be tuning and probably Tweeting in to the premiere.
