Ghostbusters is looking a little bit like a Nickelodeon movie with big name talent and a bigger budget. The jokes are stale. The costumes are overdone. It’s not terrible but it makes me worried. The two things I think they did perfectly were the special effects and the music. But every time one of the cast members opened their mouths I was disappointed. Paul Feig is the Godfather of female driven comedies but this looks like a surprising misfire. I still trust that he (and the incredibly talented cast) can pull the narrative around, but right now Ghostbusters looks like a TV movie.
