In just 12 days, Star Wars: The Force Awakens made over one billion dollars. In under two weeks, it’s already become the 5th highest grossing movie of all time. It’s breaking every record it meets. It sold more pre-sale tickets than any other movie. It’s got the biggest opening weekend of all time. It’s become the fastest selling movie ever. So yeah, Disney must be proud. Every producer for this movie is going to be raking in stacks of money.
Reviews are positive and fans are excited. It’s got a rewatchability factor that’s going to bump up sales. It’s going to dominate the box office for months (yes months). It’s got the first months of 2016 all to itself. There is nothing that can stop it, expect maybe Batman V. Superman in March.
Sorry, James Cameron. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to become the highest grossing movie of all time. It’s already broken the Top 5 and with each week it’s going to move up. It’s not a question of if but when it’ll get to the top. I’m betting that by mid January The Force Awakens will take the title. It’s going to beat out Avatar and Titanic and become the highest grossing movie of all time (not adjusting to inflation).
