So the first Finding Dory trailer just dropped… and I was incredibly disappointed. It was weirdly put together and set to a formulaic Pixar soundtrack. It wasn’t what I expected. It wasn’t funny or smart and Pixar was trying to be emotionally manipulative (which I think was a MAJOR problem with Inside Out). I didn’t respond the way they were trying to make me respond, which made it awkward. This will bring in a massive amount of money because of its nostalgia factor (and Ellen DeGeneres) but I will reluctantly go into the theater afraid of the sequel ruining the original. Also, I just wanted to add that this trailer is getting more attention than the entire marketing campaign for The Good Dinosaur (which comes out in two weeks).
