Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are the Royal Couple for People Magazine and US Weekly. From adopting a child to going to the grocery store in (GASP!) pajamas, Brad and Angelina are slapped on magazines stacked on grocery store check out racks. The general public wants to know what their marriage is like. And while this isn’t a E! produced special, it’s going to use the parallel between the onscreen and offscreen marriage to sell tickets. Brad and Angelina are royalty on the red carpet, but now they’re taking on the Indie circuit. Angelina Jolie is making another attempt at directing with By the Sea. Last year’s Unbroken was supposed to shift the actress into directing but she didn’t get the praise to prove she could be the next Ben Affleck (who was the latest A-Lister to successfully make the leap). This movie’s got beautiful shots but it might lack a strong story. We’ve got a feeling that this is going to be tough to sit though with horrible pacing. Obviously, this is just an inkling that we’re getting from a teaser, but we are suspicious. The pacing for this movie could be a marathon as opposed to a sprint. This seems like the type of project that gets mixed reviews. But at least we’re interested.
