Full House, the trashy but lovable sitcom, is getting a spin-off and it’s coming to Netflix. Fuller House (yeah that’s the name) follows D.J. as a single mother with her best fried Kimmy Gibbler and sister Stephanie helping out. John Stamos will produce and guest-star on the show. Other original cast members still might make appearances, though it’s not confirmed. While we’d like to see a spin-off of Family Matters starring Steve Urkel (Did I do that!?), this 90s TV spin-off sounds fun. Netflix is the perfect platform to try this out. If it doesn’t work, we won’t be able to really tell. Because Netflix doesn’t release ratings for individuals shows, we won’t be able to tell if the spin-off’s a disaster (although the critics will certainly give us an idea). It might be awful, but I say no harm no foul. I applaud them for trying. This isn’t going to be a hilarious sitcom, but it could be fun to watch casually. It’ll be interesting to see if they keep a laugh track or if they stick with the soapy trying-to-be-emotional endings (you know what I’m talking about). I say good luck to the creative team. This is clearly an act of love for a show that was beloved for years. I think this spin-off could be a fun little series for true fans of the original show.
