We have our first look at the hotly anticipated first memoir from Amy Poehler: Yes Please. The cover, which just came out today, isn’t a gag joke (like Tina Fey’s cover for Bossypants) but instead a return to her roots as a stand up comic. The glossy cover shows blazing neon lights glaring onto an empty beat up stage with Poehler taking the spotlight. It seems to fit her personality of being feminine, sharp, and edgy. We can’t wait for the book itself, which is set to come out October 28th. Like Colbert’s I Am America (And So Can You!), Poehler’s book will be unconventional but unquestionably brilliant. It Books, who was smart enough to buy the rights, describes the book as “an illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons.” Sign us up!!! Or would it be better to say yes please!?!
